In a world where your local municipal super sentai team has their leg call in sick, you hire Tad Danger the Substitute Ranger. Tad is a blue collar, hard-working, independent contractor. He is brash, selfish, sarcastic, stupid, and remarkably resourceful. Not exactly the image of heroism, but that isn’t his job.

To achieve his ends, Tad pilots the Manipod. The Manipod is a remarkable mecha that has the uncanny ability to transform into the missing parts of a larger mecha. It can become an arm, or leg, or any number of other forms, except heads. He doesn’t do heads.

Tad has apparently been working as a substitute ranger for nearly a decade. He is implied to have worked with countless different teams, and has had a number of wild experiences. He has survived a number of near-death experiences, ranging from encounters with mysterious one-eyed kaijus, rogue mecha pilots, and a cancer scare.

These experiences have unfortunately made Tad a bit of an anti-social person, riddled with PTSD. Not that he’d ever seek help for it.

Despite his distaste for… well everyone, Tad has unwittingly gathered a small group of acquaintances that he has kindly taken in to his home in their time of need. (Of course he immediately put them to work, but hey who’s counting). Tad has a tendency to go out of his way to help people in need, despite every fiber of his being saying he shouldn’t, even if he knows it’s going to bite him in the ass. Deep down, he’s a hero, and he hates it.
