Linn S’Flare the mad photographer, is a megalomaniacal duplicator that wants to create his own combiner team to use for his evil schemes. He has the uncanny ability to turn the pictures he takes into 3 dimensional hard light constructs. The light from his camera photographs his target’s DNA and uses that data to create a holographic reconstruction. In order to better fulfill his evil machinations, the constructs are programmed to have their personalities inverted, resulting in a Negative version of the original. 

The doppelgangers are disposable and prone to mishap. Sometimes they wind up blurry or out of focus, and need to be euthanized. Nega Cole seems to be the only one whom Dr. Double Negative has any fondness for. Perhaps she reminds him of someone.

 The circumstances of his abilities have resulted in many people assuming Dr. Double Negative to be some kind of pervert. He’s really not… but he does take a lot of candid pics… and the clones do anything he says… 

I mean, even if the Negatives didn’t cause cancer, Double Negative is better than that.
